What is a ‘Legacy & Life’ recording?

Most families have photographs, videos and keepsakes, but very few have intentional recordings of their loved ones speaking openly about their life, memories, values, favourite stories and the moments that shaped them. Memory Line’s Legacy & Life Recordings are designed to assist with gently preserving those voices before they become something we wish we had captured sooner.

  • They are calm, guided conversations created to help someone feel comfortable, safe and unrushed. Thoughtful question booklets are provided to evoke memories to unfold naturally: from childhood stories and family history to love, loss, humour, wisdom, favourite places, proudest moments and the little details that make a person who they are.

  • Legacy recordings can take place in the comfort of someone’s home, in an aged-care or nursing home setting, or in collaboration with families navigating palliative care. We understand that these recordings can be deeply emotional, especially when time feels precious. Our approach is gentle, respectful and flexible, with the aim of creating something meaningful without pressure.

  • The audio is carefully edited and preserved as a private keepsake for the family. The final recording can become a way for children, grandchildren and future generations to hear their loved one’s voice, stories and personality: not just as a memory, but as something they can return to whenever they need.

  • We have multiple session options suited to everyone’s needs. From a single hour to an entire weekend, we work with you to preserve your story, at your own pace.
