Answers To Your Frequently Asked Questions
-
An audio guestbook is a voice-based alternative to a traditional written guestbook. Instead of writing a message, your guests pick up one of our vintage telephones and leave a personal voice message, story, memory or piece of advice for you.
After your celebration, those messages are professionally prepared and delivered to you as a collection of voices from your day: something you can listen back to for years to come.
However, we differ from other audio guestbook hiring services because we provide styling, bespoke statement pieces not available to hire elsewhere in Australia, and the option of adding artwork to your audio.
-
It’s beautifully simple.
Your guests pick up the telephone, hear your personalised greeting and leave their message after the tone. When they’re finished, they simply hang up.
After your celebration, Memory Line carefully transfers, organises and processes your recordings before delivering them to you through your own private online audio portal.
-
There’s plenty of opportunity for guests to leave anything from a quick congratulations to a story, memory or heartfelt piece of advice.
Most messages naturally range from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, and we provide guest instructions and optional prompt booklets to help inspire anyone who isn’t quite sure what to say.
Some of our favourite recordings are the completely spontaneous ones!
-
Absolutely! Styling is one of the things that makes Memory Line MASSIVELY different.
Rather than simply supplying a telephone, our Experience Packages are designed as complete styled installations. Depending on the experience you choose, this can include our Statement Telephone Chairs, architectural backdrops, arches, plinths, signage, florals, vintage pieces and carefully selected décor. The options are ENDLESS.
We’ll work with your chosen package and wedding aesthetic to create something that feels like a natural part of your celebration + a beautiful feature for guests to photograph and interact with.
-
We know you’ll be excited to hear what everyone said!
After your celebration, your recordings are carefully transferred, backed up, organised and professionally processed before being uploaded to your private online Memory Line audio portal.
Our standard turnaround depends on the experience booked:
Premium Experience Packages: approximately 4 days
Everything Forever Telephone Box & Vintage Ticket Booth Experiences: priority turnaround of approximately 2 daysWe’ll keep you updated while your recordings are being prepared.
You can also choose to add a bespoke USB keepsake or custom Memory Line artwork featuring a QR code that links to selected audio highlights through your private portal.
Turnaround times may occasionally vary depending on the number and length of recordings, editing requirements, or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Your expected delivery timeframe will be confirmed with your booking.
-
Start by choosing the Memory Line experience you love (the easiest way is clicking on the experience you want through our website, the second option is through Easy Weddings, or the third is emailing us at admin@memoryline.com.au). Send us your event date, venue and a few details about your celebration.
We’ll check availability and provide your booking information, including your package, styling options, delivery requirements and any applicable travel costs.
Your date is only secured once your booking has been accepted by Memory Line, your 20% booking deposit has been received and we have confirmed your booking in writing.
Your remaining balance is due 14 days before the event.
Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll guide you through the styling and planning process so everything is ready for your celebration.

The quieter the location, the better your recordings will sound.
Although your Memory Line setup is designed to be seen and enjoyed by guests, we strongly recommend positioning it away from the DJ, speakers and dance floor wherever possible.
A quieter but still easily accessible area — such as the edge of the reception space, an adjoining foyer, verandah, alcove or other guest-accessible location — is usually ideal.
We also recommend avoiding locations immediately beside busy bars, commercial kitchens, high-traffic walkways and exposed outdoor areas where strong wind may affect the recordings.
Don't worry, we can discuss placement with you or your venue before the event. Our aim is to find the sweet spot between easy for guests to discover and quiet enough to capture their voices clearly.
While we professionally process your recordings after the event, heavy music, wind or background noise captured during the original recording cannot always be completely removed.

We understand that wedding and event plans sometimes change.
If you need to cancel or move your booking, please contact us in writing as soon as possible. Rescheduling is subject to availability, and any refund, credit or amount retained will depend on the timing of the cancellation, work already completed, costs incurred and the conditions of your booking.
Full details are available in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, and nothing in our booking terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
If something unexpected happens, please get in touch with us — we’ll always work through the situation with you fairly.

Yes. Your voices and memories are incredibly personal, and we treat them that way.
Your recordings are handled privately and are used to prepare and deliver the service you have booked. We will not publish your guest recordings, private messages or audio for advertising, social media or promotional purposes without appropriate permission.
Your completed recordings are delivered through your private Memory Line audio portal, with additional keepsake options available depending on your package.

We highly recommend adding an attendant, although it’s completely optional. Your attendant will be there to help with styling, manage the Polaroids and keep everything running smoothly throughout your event, so you can simply enjoy it.
An attendant can be added for an additional $50 per hour.
